Adeoye Adeyolu Blessing, an Ondo-based chef, has begun her quest to shatter the world record for the longest cooking time by an individual, which is currently held by Chef Hilda Baci.
Damilola Adeparusi, a 300-level student at the Federal University, Oye, allegedly tried to break Baci’s 93-hour record by cooking some regional dishes for 120 hours.
The Guinness Book of World Records did not, however, recognise her achievement.
To see how far the Ondo chef can go in breaking Hilda’s record, some Nigerians have been watching live streams of her 150-hour cook-a-ton.
Despite the controversy surrounding her mission, the chef insisted that she had “intensely prepared” for the cook-a-thon and that she was still committed to breaking the record.
Hilda Baci, an Akwa Ibom chef who recently received her certification from the Guinness World Records after cooking for 93 hours and 11 minutes, currently holds the record for the longest cooking marathon.
