According to the group, its head, Vicky Haastrup, made the vow while hosting the commander of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s Apapa Special Area Command, Udotong Noah.
She promised the NDLEA president the organization’s cooperation in the battle against illegal drug imports and usage in the country.
According to Haastrup, all well-meaning parties must NDLEA in their efforts to reduce the unlawful manufacture, importation, exportation, sale, and trafficking of psychoactive drugs.
She praised the NDLEA’s Apapa Special Area Command for its vigilance at the country’s seaports in order to prevent illegal narcotics brought by unscrupulous persons from entering society.
She called for further education of port users, truck drivers, and conductors about the risks of narcotics and substance misuse, which she claimed had destroyed many lives and had disastrous consequences in many households.
“It is the obligation of all Nigerians to make Nigeria drug-free.” The NDLEA is working hard to prevent the importation and export of illegal substances into Nigeria. The organization has also done a great deal to reduce drug consumption among Nigerians, particularly youngsters. All of us, both at the business and individual levels,
“want to assure you that all terminal operators will continue to support you and the Nigeria Customs Service to intercept illicit importation into Nigeria. “We won’t allow unscrupulous elements to use our ports as gateways for their illicit trade.”
Earlier, Noah stated that his visit to the organization was to request the help of terminal operators in combating illicit drug imports and misuse in the port region.
