David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has disclosed that he and Chioma Rowland got married while they were still mourning the loss of their son Ifeanyi Adeleke, who was 3 years old.
To support one another and remain a solid family unit during this trying period, the musician and Chioma chose to be married, according to Tribune Online.
Davido said that he experienced several difficulties in the months before the release of his eagerly awaited “Timeless” album on Friday, March 31. He explained that in addition to being Chioma’s lover and husband, he needed to be a tower of strength for her so that they could confront their challenging circumstances together.
“We experienced a lot together at that time, and to get through it and prepare for Timeless, we had to be there for one another.” “It’s time to prove to the world that I am prepared for this now that we have passed that threshold,” Davido stated.
The Afrobeat phenomenon revealed that “Timeless” went through at least three iterations before the chosen final version.
The singer admitted that the loss of his child affected the record, even though it has several upbeat, high-energy songs.
He stated: “Before my son passed on, we had finished the album.” But it was a tragic situation, and I had to calm myself down and take a step back.”
“On the album, you will hear a couple of songs that might take you back and into some emotions… You will hear me talk about a couple of things I’ve been through personally.”
