Isaac Mfo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in Benue State, has denied knowing of Dr. Iyorchia Ayu’s suspension.

The state chairman says his opinion after hearing yesterday that the PDP executive council had suspended Ayu in the Igyorov Ward, Gboko Local Council. The state chairman responded that he is “unaware of any such occurrence.”

“Nothing of the such has come to my table, and I have no knowledge of that (Ayu’s suspension),” Mfo declared.

Also, Mr. Gbangson Adekwagh, the chairman of the PDP in Gboko Local Council, said yesterday to The Guardian: “That is what people have been asking me for the past few hours. Yet I’m not sure how I found that news.

In a widely shared video from yesterday, Philips Karshi, the PDP chairman in Igyorov Ward, read the suspension of Ayu from the party from a prepared script.

Anti-party activities and the PDP chairman’s alleged inability to cast a ballot in the most recent general election were among the transgressions mentioned by Karshi.

The entire incident occurred shortly after the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) reported Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State, to the party’s disciplinary committee.

One of the five PDP governors that objected to Atiku Abubakar becoming the party’s presidential nominee, Ortom is currently at odds with Ayu.
