Justice Oyebola Ojo, the chief judge of Osun State, has ordered that Dr Rahman Adedoyin, the owner of the Hilton Hotel Ile-Ife, where Timothy Adegoke, a postgraduate student at Obafemi Awolowo University, is alleged to have been killed, be hanged.
Adedoyin was previously found guilty of murder by the court.
According to the facts of the case presented by the prosecuting attorney, Femi Falana, SAN, the Chief Judge concluded in her ruling that the hotel’s owner and two of his employees are guilty of a murderous plot and unlawful killing of the deceased.
In order to arrive early for his exam at the OAU Distance Learning Centre, Moro, Osun State, on November 6 and 7, 2021, Adegoke had stayed at the Hilton Hotels and Resorts in Ile-Ife upon his arrival from Abuja on November 5, according to SaharaReporters.
He later vanished, and after a police investigation into the hotel’s proprietor, Dr Rahman Adedoyin, and its staff, he was discovered dead and buried in a grave.
Adegoke was reported missing, the police were called, seven suspects were taken into custody, and an investigation was then launched.
