Mrs. Gloria Izonfuo, a Federal Commissioner with the National Population Commission, NPC, in Bayelsa State, has reportedly been kidnapped by gunmen.
Mrs. Izonfuo, a former Head of Service in Bayelsa State, was abducted around 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Ogbakiri junction on the East-West Road on her way to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, from a trip to Brass in Bayelsa State.
The gunmen allegedly kidnapped her, along with her driver and maid. The kidnappers are demanding a ransom of N5 million for their release.
Grace Iringe-Koko, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that the Commissioner of Police has mandated tactical teams to ensure the victims’ release.
