Prof. Yemi Osinbajo was praised for his qualities by President Muhammadu Buhari and other notable Nigerians on Monday, May 1. President Buhari described Prof. Osinbajo as a devoted and loyal compatriot who has a strong desire to see Nigeria develop. This was said by President Buhari during the virtual launch of the book “Osinbajo Stride: Defining Moments of An Innovative Leader,” which was written in honor of the vice president by a group of 25 journalists working under the direction of PYO Collective.
Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, served as the president’s representative. The president recalled Osinbajo’s commitment to public service, particularly in serving the needs of the general populace.
The president thanked Prof. Osinbajo for his selflessness and passion for excellence in carrying out the duties entrusted to his office and acknowledged all of his travels to various regions of the nation to connect with the common people. The vice president, he said, “has a passion for excellence in everything he is involved with, and that is one thing that is admirable about him. ” Even before he began his official duties as vice president, we all witnessed him demonstrate this quality during the campaigns, making sure that the proper things were carried out. Please accept our sincere gratitude, sir. Osinbajo said he felt honored to have been recognized by the esteemed journalists during his remarks.

He also thanked the state governors, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, a former military leader of the state, and other attendees for their assistance and support over the course of his eight years as vice president. Famous Nigerian author Chimamanda Adichie praised the book in her review, calling the work of the 25 authors who contributed different chapters a labor of love. According to her, it was evident from reading the book that the authors had faith in the vice president. Public Republic, which covered the virtual launch, noted that in addition to Gen. Gowon, other dignitaries including Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, Governor of Sokoto State, and the governors of Ogun, Plateau, and Akwa Ibom. Other dignitaries were former CBN governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; former CEO of Access Bank, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede; and renowned broadcaster Kadaria Ahmed, among others.
VP Osinbajo recently spoke as one of the guest speakers at The Mo Ibrahim Governance Weekend, in case you forgot. Leading figures from Africa and beyond participate in the event to discuss important topics related to the continent’s development. Donald Kaberuka, the former president of the African Development Bank, and Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the director general of the World Trade Organization, were among the other world leaders who spoke at the event with Osinbajo.
