The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has declared that, commencing from this year’s mobilization exercise, all eligible prospective corps members must complete their mobilization registration using their National Identification Numbers (NIN).
According to a statement released yesterday and signed by Eddy Megwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations, this decision stems from discussions held between the NYSC Management, headed by Director General Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, and the National Identification Management Commission (NIMC), led by Director General Engr Abisoye Coker-Odusote in Abuja.
General Ahmed emphasized that the collaboration with NIMC in corps mobilization aims to enhance the online registration process for the Scheme. While acknowledging the significant assistance provided by the NYSC Integrated system in the mobilization process, he stressed the necessity for further improvements.
Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, the Director General of NIMC, assured the commission’s readiness for the collaborative effort with NYSC. She highlighted that the synergy would streamline the entire mobilization process and address various issues, ultimately simplifying procedures. Additionally, she emphasized NIMC’s commitment to delivering top-notch services to the nation and mentioned existing partnerships with several government agencies.
