In a recent development from the Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos State, it was announced on Wednesday that Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, Samson Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, along with two others, are to be held in police custody over the tragic death of Afrobeats musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known as Mohbad.
The court has ordered that Naira Marley and Sam Larry, as well as their co-accused, Ogedengbe Fisayo and Ayobami Sadiq, be remanded in police custody for a period of 21 days. This decision follows a request from the Lagos State Police Command for a 30-day detention period for the individuals in question. However, Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun opted for a shorter detention period and ordered their remand in the police State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCID). The case has been adjourned until October 25.
Additionally, the court has granted the suspects access to medical attention and the right to legal representation after charging them with conspiracy and suspected murder.
Naira Marley and Lagos socialite Sam Larry have come under investigation in connection with the untimely demise of Mohbad, who tragically passed away on September 12. Sam Larry was taken into custody on September 29, and Naira Marley was subsequently detained for questioning by the Lagos police.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command has declared Owodunni Ibrahim, known as Primeboy, as a wanted individual in connection with Mohbad’s death. This declaration follows Primeboy’s failure to comply with an invitation issued to him during the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing. Primeboy is described as approximately 1.64 meters tall, male, dark-complexioned with tribal marks, and of Yoruba descent. His last known address is 3rd Power, Oke Eletu, Ikorodu, in Lagos State.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has announced a reward of N1,000,000 (One Million Naira Only) for anyone providing useful information leading to the arrest of Primeboy.
In the wake of Mohbad’s tragic death, public attention has turned towards Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and several others associated with the Marlian record label, with allegations of mistreatment towards the late musician.
