David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has criticised Amaju Pinnick, the former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), labelling him as a dreams crusher.

This ongoing feud comes in the wake of allegations made by the football administrator, who asserted that Davido declined to perform at an event in Warri, Delta State, despite receiving a payment of $94,600. Amaju Pinnick further claimed that a private jet was booked for Davido at a cost of $18,000, but the singer failed to make an appearance.

In response to Davido’s absence, the event organizers said it had to hastily secure the services of another artist, Shallipopi, as a replacement

“We paid Davido $94,600 on the 6th of April. We paid $18,000 for his plane. If he says he’s a big boy, we will tell him we are bigger than him.

“I’m not joking. So, while he was playing his games back and forth, we decided to hunt to find another artiste, Shallipopi.

“You see, when people say they are big, I’m amazed. Is Burna Boy not the biggest artiste in Nigeria today? Burna Boy is half Itsekiri. Burna Boy’s paternal grandmother is Itsekiri. So, he’s bigger than him (Davido).

“Is there anyone bigger than RMD in the acting industry? Or someone bigger than Ali Baba in the comedy industry?

“We have stars aplenty in Warri. Nobody is bigger than Warri,” he said.

However, the Afrobeats star has responded to Pinnick’s allegation.

Davido took to social media, specifically X, to assert his unwavering confidence in his ability to perform anywhere in Nigeria, with a special promise to his fans in Warri that he would be visiting their city soon. His post read, “No one can hinder me from performing anywhere in Nigeria… Warri, I’ll be with you soon.”

In a cryptic move, he shared a picture of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) logo with the caption, “I won’t say a word.”

Davido went on to declare that he had no intentions of returning the payment he received but instead pledged to donate it to a Nigerian football charity organization

“In fact, I will double it… Mr Dream Crusher,” he said.

“Imagine how many Nigerian footballers have had their dreams crushed because person wan live for Ikoyi by force.

“Warri people hate you Amaju and you know. Come outside, let’s talk. I will be performing in Warri in December, I wan see who get mind stop me…body go tell u.
