Renowned Nigerian artist Davido has issued an apology to disappointed fans in Delta State after missing the Warri event.

Davido found himself embroiled in controversy when he failed to appear at Amaju Pinnick’s Warri Again event.

Amaju Pinnick, the former president of the Nigerian Football Federation, alleged that Davido had received a payment of $98,000 and an additional $18,000 for a private jet to transport him to Delta State for the event.

Despite accepting the payment and confirming the date, Davido did not attend, as claimed by Pinnick.

In response, Davido accused the former NFF president of being an untrustworthy sports official who had not fulfilled financial obligations to Nigerian athletes. He expressed these sentiments through a series of tweets and images on his Instagram story.

Davido firmly asserted that no one could ban him from performing anywhere in Nigeria, countering Amaju Pinnick’s statement that he would not be invited back to Delta State.

However, Davido has now taken to his Instagram page to issue an apology. The “Fem” singer expressed his regret and disappointment at missing the concert and promised to deliver an even grander performance in the region.

Davido mentioned that he had informed the Warri Again organizers about his inability to attend the event due to a scheduling conflict with his show in New Zealand. Despite this, his name was still used in the event’s promotion.

In his apology, Davido reassured his Warri fans that he intends to bring his “Timeless Xperience Concert” to Delta State soon.
