Nollywood actress Iniobong Edo has recently revealed her regrets about her previous marriage, stating that she made the decision to walk down the aisle due to family pressure. Ini Edo tied the knot with American-based businessman Philip Ehiagwina on November 29, 2008. However, the marriage lasted for five years and eventually ended in divorce in 2013.

During a candid interview with popular media personality Chude Jideonwo on his TV show #WithChude, Ini Edo openly shared her sentiments about the marriage, expressing regret for having entered into it, as it turned out to be an ill-advised choice. She admitted, “I regretted my decision to get married because it wasn’t the right move to make.”

Nevertheless, the talented actress remains open to the possibility of getting married again, but only if the right person comes along.

In the same interview, Ini Edo disclosed her decision to pursue surrogacy as a means to have a child. She explained that she opted for surrogacy due to experiencing several miscarriages and eventually becoming exhausted from trying to conceive.

She stated, “I chose surrogacy because I had several miscarriages. And I just got tired of trying.”

As she did not have a husband at the time, Ini Edo wanted to have a child for herself, regardless of marital status. She further elaborated, “So, what other options would I have considered? And I wanted it to be my child. My eggs. Thankfully, my eggs are good. So I did that.”

In 2021, Ini Edo joyfully announced the arrival of her first child, a baby girl, through the process of surrogacy.
