Gov. David Nweze Umahi has received praise from former president Goodluck Jonathan for the remarkable turnaround of Ebonyi State.

On Monday, Jonathan made the comments when dedicating the Goodluck Jonathan Flypast in Iyere Edda.

The Amasiri-Owutu-Ebunwana and Owutu-Amoso roads in Edda Local Government Area were also ordered by the last president.

Jonathan, who was present with his wife, Dame Patience, praised Umahi for his desire to improve people’s lives.

“It’s a delight for my wife and me to be in Ebonyi State right now. Every time I observe the calibre and scope of Governor Umahi’s projects in Ebonyi State, I am satisfied.

“I praise God for sending him now since I don’t see the kinds of projects he’s involved in Ebonyi,”

“Sometimes, I ask where he gets the money, Umahi is a prudent manager of resources.”

Gov. Umahi had previously noted that the Iyere Flyover bears the former president’s name in recognition of his assistance in the installation of the state’s current government.

“Let me explain to Edda people that this is the President that God used to bring us to power so we have to be eternally thankful to him and that is why we have named this flyover after him, we chose this flyover because it was tasking building it.

“There is nothing the heart of a man is set to achieve that he cannot achieve. I was driven by my love for Edda people and the people of Ebonyi State,” the governor said.
