A special meeting has been called by members-elect for the House of Representatives under the auspices of the “Joint Task – 10th Assembly,” and it will take place on Monday in Abuja.
It’s been reported that the members-elect under the coalition is drawn from the All Progressive Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Social Democratic Party (SDP)’ African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Young Progressive Party (YPP).
It was discovered that the invitation to the meeting was found in a statement signed by the chairman, Bello Kumo (APC/Gombe), co-chairman, Kingsley Chinda (PDP/Rivers), and secretary, Aliyu Madaki (NNPP/Kano) and entitled, “Invitation to an important meeting for all members-elect of the 10th National Assembly.”
It is unknown what will be discussed at the meeting, but it is assumed that it will have something to do with the leadership of the tenth National Assembly, which will be in session soon.
However, Aliyu Betara, who represents Borno State’s Biu/Bayo/Shani Federal Constituency, has received the support of a number of recently elected House of Representatives members operating under the banner of New Vision.
The six geopolitical zones’ new legislators, who represent various political parties, maintained that they would oppose the imposition of any legislator who was running for office.
