In response to the controversies surrounding the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), TB Joshua, as reported by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Multichoice DStv has officially announced the discontinuation of the broadcast of the religious TV network, Emmanuel TV, established by the deceased clergyman, on channel 390.
The decision, effective from January 17th, 2024, was conveyed to viewers through an on-screen message that stated, “Dear viewer, please note that Emmanuel TV will exit on the 17th of January 2024. Thank you for watching.”
Additionally, beyond parting ways with MultiChoice, it has been reported that Emmanuel TV will also cease broadcasting on StarSat and various other pay-TV platforms.
This development coincides with the release of a controversial three-part documentary by the BBC, which alleges atrocities and sexual crimes committed by the late TB Joshua towards his disciples.
The BBC conducted a historic investigation into the late preacher and his church, featuring interviews with at least 30 alleged former members and workers of the SCOAN.
