The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Government, demanding a reversal of all perceived anti-poor policies. Failure to comply will result in an indefinite nationwide strike commencing on August 2.
The decision came after the Central Working Committee (CWC) held a meeting at Abuja Labour House on Tuesday, July 25.
The Committee strongly criticized the recent increase in petrol pump prices and the payment of N8,000 to 12 million Nigerians.
As a consequence, the Congress has instructed all affiliated unions and state councils to immediately mobilize workers for a sustained strike and mass protests if the Government fails to meet their demands.
