The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited’s (NNPCL) retail division has denied reports that the price of gasoline at the pump will likely rise.
The independent oil marketers have alerted to a further increase in petrol pump price ranging between N680/litre and N720/litre if the dollar continued to trade between N910 and N950 on the parallel market.
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) issued a warning on Monday, threatening an ongoing nationwide strike if gas prices were raised further.
However, the retail division of the NNPCL urged customers to ignore rumors about any further increases in gas prices in a tweet posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday night.
The tweet read, “Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPCL Retail value your patronage, and we do not have the intention to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated.
“Please buy the best quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPCL retail stations nationwide.”
