Nigerian musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is well-known worldwide. He recently acknowledged that he performed for free as a gesture of goodwill at Alex Otti’s reception dinner.

In an attempt to answer followers’ inquiries, Davido revealed the details in a tweet on Monday night.

There was a flurry of excitement on Twitter when it was revealed that Davido, the godson of Dr. Alex Otti, would be giving a full performance at the inauguration after-party in Umuahia.

Another Twitter user expressed interest in the concept and inquired as to whether Davido had given a free performance.

In his response, Davido reiterated his claim that he was not compensated for the performance and emphasised his long-standing friendship with Governor Otti.

He expressed his confidence in Otti’s capacity to provide the people of Abia state with effective governance.

He put pen to paper;

“Not a dime. I’ve known Excellency all my life… and I’m sure he will do well for the people of Abia state.”
