In a statement on Tuesday, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for selecting an Igbo son to serve as one of the Service Chiefs and predicted good things to come.

The group claimed that with the appointment, Tinubu would carry everyone along with his good intentions for the nation.

According to Ripples Nigeria, President Tinubu replaced the Service Chiefs who had been fired on Monday.

In a statement on Tuesday, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the national president of the Ohanaeze youths, claimed that Tinubu had made the bold move towards national healing that he had promised the people.

“For eight years, we cried, and shouted on top of our voices that no Igbo man is among the top security echelon of the country, but former President Muhammadu Buhari turned deaf ears.”

“He made sure that Ndigbo were totally subjugated under his administration. However, within just a few days in power, President Tinubu has demonstrated total readiness to right those wrongs.

Rear Admiral E. A. Ogalla’s appointment, according to Okwu, “is a clear testament to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s desire to reunite the country,” he continued. The immediate past administration handed over to him a very fragmented country like never before.

“However, Mr President’s actions so far have given hope to Nigerians that good things are ahead. This also came a few days after our own Frank Mba, another proud Igbo son, was promoted from AIG to DIG of police.”

He nevertheless pleaded with Ndigbo to support Tinubu’s administration as vigorously as possible, stating that “we are certain he has good plans for the country and will carry everyone along.”
