The Osun Governorship Election Tribunal’s January 27, 2023 ruling that declared Ademola Adeleke the winner of the election conducted on July 16, 2022, was overturned by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

A three-judge panel of the appellate court, chaired by Justice Mohammed Shuaibu, recently ruled that Gboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress (APC), who are designated as the first and second respondents, failed to establish their claim of excessive voting before the electoral tribunal.

The verdict was on the appeal filed by Adeleke, marked: CA/AK/EPT/GOV/01/2023.

Oyetola and the APC filed a cross-appeal, and the court is now ruling on it.

The court will still issue a decision regarding the other two appeals.
