503 individuals have been apprehended by the Kaduna State Police for their involvement in a wide range of offenses, including banditry, armed cattle rustling, culpable homicide, vandalization of rail tracks, and other related crimes. The arrests, which took place between May and June 2023, have resulted in significant recoveries and the disruption of criminal activities.

Among the suspects is Ismail Mohammed from Maijere Village, Saminaka, in Lere local government area. Mohammed was apprehended for kidnapping and subsequently murdering his own brother, Kabiru Mohammed, after extracting a ransom of N120,000 from their family.

During a press briefing held at the command’s headquarters, DSP Muhammed Jalige, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, disclosed that the recovered items included four AK47 rifles, three revolver pistols, two pump-action guns, 2,800 railway slippers, and nine stolen vehicles of various makes. Additionally, two tricycles, 209 rounds of AK47 live ammunition, 129 rustled cattle, eight sheep, and other items were also seized.

DSP Muhammed Jalige emphasized that the prevailing peace and tranquility in Kaduna State are clear indications of the relentless efforts made by the police command to safeguard the lives and properties of the state’s residents. He reassured the public that the Kaduna Police Command remains committed to thwarting the activities of criminal elements across the state, ensuring the safety and security of its people.
