The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has warned the public, particularly applicants, to be wary of fraudulent recruitment invitation letters.

NIS spokesman Adedotun Aridegbe issued a statement on Wednesday that includes the warning.

According to the statement, only the service’s official recruitment portal would allow users to download invitation letters for employment there.

“The attention of the acting comptroller general of NIS, Caroline Adepoju, has been drawn to the activities of some fraudsters, who are deceiving members of the public with fake invitation letters for recruitment into the NIS,” said the statement.

According to the statement, “all invitations for recruitment into the NIS can only be downloaded by the applicants from its official recruitment portal, https://cdcfib.career,” who must log in with their registration and phone numbers to access the invitation letters.

It explained that all other invites from “any source and through any medium sent directly to applicants are fake.”

“Consequently, the acting comptroller general wishes to use this medium to advise members of the public to ignore such fake invitations, as such offers are not true and are intended to defraud unsuspecting members of the public,” NIS stated.

Any inquiries or requests for information regarding NIS’s operations “can be accessed through the following platforms: SERVICOM, Twitter (@nigimmigration), Instagram (@ingimmigration), and Twitter (@nigimmigration).”
