In a recent development, security operatives have successfully intercepted an oil theft syndicate operating in the Oporoza area of Delta State. The operation, carried out by Tompolo’s Tantita Security Service, led to the apprehension of a massive vessel transporting illegal crude oil within the creeks of the Niger Delta. This significant breakthrough was confirmed by Arise Television on Monday.
It is crucial to mention that in June, former militant leader Asari Dokubo made alarming allegations, implicating the Nigerian Army and Navy in 99 percent of oil theft cases within the Niger Delta region. Nevertheless, both the Nigerian Army and Navy have firmly denied Dokubo’s claims, highlighting that incidents of oil theft persist in the area despite their ongoing efforts to combat it.
