Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has established two advisory councils: the Oyo State Elders’ Council and the Oyo State Advisory Council. Dr. Saka Balogun, a former Chief of Staff to Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, will chair the State Elders’ Council, while Elder Wole Oyelese, a former Minister of Power and Steel, will serve as the co-chairman.
The Elders’ Council also includes prominent figures such as former Deputy Governor Hameed Gbadamosi, former first lady Alhaja Mutiat Ladoja, and Chief Jacob Adetoro, among others, as members.
This move was communicated in a letter dated October 12, signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.
Others are: Chief Sunday Ogunlade; Ambassador Ronke Adefope; Chief Nureni Akanbi and Chief Ademola Eyinade.
The letter added that the State Advisory Council will be chaired by Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, SAN.
Other members of the Advisory Council include the former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu; Senator Hosea Agboola; Senator Gbenga Babalola; Oyo State Social Democratic Party (SDP) Governorship Candidate for the 2023 election, Barrister Michael Lana; former Alliance for Democracy (AD) Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Babatunde Oduyoye and Senator Kamarudeen Adedibu.
