All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial candidate for Benue South in 2023, Comrade Daniel Onjeh, praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for enacting the Students’ Loan Bill into law.

In a statement given to the media on Tuesday, Onjeh expressed confidence that the new law will lessen the suffering of needy students and reduce the dropout rate in higher education institutions.

He felt that given the difficult economic climate brought on by the rising cost of living, the law could not have come at a better time.

He also praised Femi Gbajabiamila, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chief of Staff to the President, for having introduced the Bill in his capacity as a lawmaker.

He said that he would continue to be grateful to him on behalf of all former National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS Presidents, and all students in Nigeria for starting the Bill and seeing it through to completion.  He thinks the students will respect him as such.

The statement further said that the law is poised to bring succour to many intelligent but indigent students who are compelled to take time off their studies in search of menial jobs to earn money to pay for their tuition and upkeep.
