In a recent development in Minna, Niger State, an individual suspected of attempting to steal transformer cables met a tragic end on the grounds of the Niger State Printing Press. The unnamed man was fatally electrocuted during an early morning theft attempt.

Confirming the incident, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, spokesperson for the Niger Police Command, reported that the deceased’s body has been transported to Minna General Hospital. The discovery of the lifeless body, hanging from the transformer, was made by an employee of the printing firm.

Aminu Ubandoma, Head of the Legal Unit at Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), stated that the company has been informed about the incident. He emphasized that the AEDC is actively collaborating with law enforcement agencies, notably the police, to combat the escalating problem of transformer vandalism in the region.
