The creation of a 17-member Transition Committee for the transfer of power to the state’s new administration has been approved by the Kano State Executive Council.
A 100-person subcommittee, whose members would be chosen from various ministries, departments, and organizations, was also approved by the council.
Muhammad Garba, the state’s commissioner for information and internal affairs, revealed this to reporters as he discussed the results of the council’s weekly meeting, which was held in the council chamber of the government building in Kano.
He stated that the governor-elect would probably propose three members for the core committee.

Within three weeks, the main committee, according to Garba, would diligently draft and submit a final transition and handover report.
The commissioner disclosed that the primary Transition Committee had been given the authority to launch the transition program and to compile a list of the accomplishments made under Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s two terms in office.
He said the committee would also get reports from MDAs on significant accomplishments, including current projects and programs, and analyze them.

He stated that Governor Ganduje would formally establish the committee on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Africa House, Government House, Kano State.
